Super short and quick read I love the trivia feel of the facts A few of the incidents I had heard of, most I had not I love a group of channels on YouTube that does similar topics in a similar style Today I Found Out, TopTenz, Biographics, etc , so this book was right up my alley.

I m hovering between one and two stars for this one.Ultimately, the book is not poorly written, nor is it uninteresting It just isn t really a book Each page has a little paragraph dedicated to the story of a strange death The information is scarce and presented with great brevity and humor Rumors are reported as true i.e the story of the tortoise falling from the sky and there is no real discernible organization to the way the deaths are presented They re just all there Chronologi I m hovering between one and two stars for this one.Ultimately, the book is not poorly written, nor is it uninteresting It just isn t really a book Each page has a little paragraph dedicated to the story of a strange death The information is scarce and presented with great brevity and humor Rumors are reported as true i.e the story of the tortoise falling from the sky and there is no real discernible organization to the way the deaths are presented They re just all there Chronological order, at least, would ve been nice. This is a fun little book of trivia, but it left me rather unsatisfied It sa curiosity than anything else, but there are better books out there that arethorough and entertaining Mental Floss s publications, for instance, come to mind Or the Book of Lists Overall, this book should have been presented a little bit better and been a bitthorough Even justinteresting asides would have made the bookenjoyable, or a bit of information regarding some of thedisputed deaths All in all, not a terrible book if you re giving it to a macabre kid just disappointing for an adult

This book is for those who like trivia and the macabre While the topic of weird ways people have died isn t my usual read and not one I enjoyed, I m giving it 3 stars, instead of 2, because it is written well Read my full review here This book is for those who like trivia and the macabre While the topic of weird ways people have died isn t my usual read and not one I enjoyed, I m giving it 3 stars, instead of 2, because it is written well Read my full review here

Over 100 stories on just plain weird deaths are shared in this new compilation from Portable Press, the publisher best known for their Dear John Bathroom books Included are stories of celebrities to ordinary folks whose lives came to an end in unique ways The deaths happened all over the world from the early centuries to the present century and many are just plain shocking I think the most horrific one to me was the farmer eaten by his own pigs Also included are Did You Know facts related Over 100 stories on just plain weird deaths are shared in this new compilation from Portable Press, the publisher best known for their Dear John Bathroom books Included are stories of celebrities to ordinary folks whose lives came to an end in unique ways The deaths happened all over the world from the early centuries to the present century and many are just plain shocking I think the most horrific one to me was the farmer eaten by his own pigs Also included are Did You Know facts related to death and dying including facts like, Monday is the most common day to suffer a fatal heart attack. One story from 2007 that I remember seeing in the news was a mother who entered a contest to win a Wii by holding her urine in and drinking 2 1 2 gallons of water She died of water intoxication just to win a Wii So sad Another woman died from cardiac arrest at the age of 30 because she regularly drank over 2 gallons of Coke a day The caffeine and sugar contributed to her poor health.and apparently lack of teeth Ewww Some stories are just too crazy to even make up A guy in 2012 mistakenly drank gasoline and once realized it was gasoline, spit it out Later he lit a cigarette and the gasoline residue left on his clothes started on fire He died the next day Another story of a man who was stuck in a cave just confirmed my fears about all things caves and dark, tight spaces Rescuers eventually gave up after 28 hours, and the cave was permanently closed. This book isn t happy, but if you like reading crazy stories about real life events then, you might find this book interesting The book is small and you can read each story in just a couple of minutes

I received a free copy of this book from the publisher All thoughts and opinions are my own.Did you know you can die from water intoxication just from drinking too much water in too little time Or that there was a king that died on a toilet and I m not talking about Elvis This cute but macabre little book is a collection of stories of unusual deaths that have occurred to people throughout history and is basically one big cautionary tale There are 127 pages of strange deaths and facts about I received a free copy of this book from the publisher All thoughts and opinions are my own.Did you know you can die from water intoxication just from drinking too much water in too little time Or that there was a king that died on a toilet and I m not talking about Elvis This cute but macabre little book is a collection of stories of unusual deaths that have occurred to people throughout history and is basically one big cautionary tale There are 127 pages of strange deaths and facts about death to help you avoid ending up in the same sinking ship but also to remind you that we can t always control or avoid it.Death can be such a fascinating subject but also sobering and overlooked for obvious reasons History s Weirdest Deaths does a great job of keeping the subject light and educational while sharing interesting facts about deaths throughout history If you have an odd fascination with the macabre, or perhaps just want to know all the ways to die and learn from other s mistakes, this may be the book for you This was a fun little read aloud that had my listeners contemplating all the dangers to avoid in life This review was originally shared on Lazy Day Literature

A fun quick read I squirmed a bit with the description of the insane ancient punishment killings from Romans, Persians, etc The best ones were the people killed by their own stupidity and or pride.
