36 uestions That Changed My Mind About You PDF Ö

36 uestions That Changed My Mind About You Inspired by the real psychology study popularized by the New York Times and its Modern Love column this contemporary YA is perfect for fans of Eleanor and Park Hildy and Paul each have their own reasons for joining the university psychology study that asks the simple uestion Can love be engineered The study consists of 36 uestions ranging from What is your most terrible memory to When did you last sing to yourself By the time Hildy and Paul have made it to the end of the uestionnaire they've laughed and cried and lied and thrown things and run away and come back and driven each other almost crazy They've also each discovered the painful secret the other was trying so hard to hide But have they fallen in love Told in the language of modern romance—texting A IM—and punctuated by Paul's sketches this clever high concept YA is full of humor and heart As soon as you've finished reading you'll be searching for your own stranger to ask the 36 uestions Maybe you'll even fall in love Got about 50 pages in before I realized I was skimming and finally decided to just not keep reading Three stars for cuteness I think it suffered from being an ARC The drawings and there are many that will be included in the book were not present I would have loved to see them because they sounded hilarious I don't read a lot of young adult especially romance so maybe it's par for the course but I found it to be too predictable It doesn't stray too far from the typical boy meets girl they clash then slowly begin to understand each other cliche The awkward girl and the bad boy I can imagine this story being appealing to younger millennialsHildy and Paul have never met before they're thrown together in a 36 uestions experiment In case you're not familiar the uestions are designed for two people to get to know each other in an accelerated manner You reveal very personal thoughts and memories and get to know a stranger very intimately very uickly Paul treats it as a joke at first only having signed up to get the promised forty dollars Hildy who didn't even know she'd get paid is understandably frustrated and wants to do the uestions properly She can't deny the young man sitting across from her is attractive and intriguing but he's a pain in the buttThe experiment is derailed and looks like it's going to be a complete fail but they pick things back up after they leave A lot of the book is told interview style or through messaging We get to know about their lives and why they are the way they are as the book goes on They both made judgments about each other that may or may not be way off With 36 simple and some not so simple uestions could you fall in love? I'd recommend this to someone who wants something cute and light done in an original formatIf you've already read this one I have one thing to say you might identify with for the love of all that is holy GIVE ME THE FISH I'll take care of it I received an ARC of this book from Net Galley and Perseus Books Running Press Thank you My review is honest and unbiased Here is my video review for an in depth look at my thoughts did not like this book At allI thought the writing style was juvenile and failed to ground the characters and communicate genuine emotion and growth within themI thought the characters were flat cliche underdeveloped and oftentimes unnecessary to the plot And finally the plot was nearly non existent with little innovation and creativity A brilliant idea with a lot of potential but the execution failed to live up to that So a clumsy heroine who is shy and babbles a lot and is prone to accidents Enter the proverbial bad guy who doens't give a damn and is full of himself Follow into an interview between them from hell which makes you exit this book as fast as you can afraid this exchange is going to be the way the rest of the book is Sorry I guess this book wasn't for me I got lost as soon as the clichés began entering S
