A Most Inconvenient Wish A Ladys Wish #3 Epub Î

A Most Inconvenient Wish A Ladys Wish #3 I received an eARC from NetGalley and the publisher in exchange for an honest reviewThis is the 3rd book in the 'A Lady's Wish' series You CAN read this as a standalone book but the others are so great I'd read them too We have seen the heroine Sophia Townsend in the first two books of the series We've watched her grow somewhat in her two sister's books but in this book she is still cold set on propriety at all costs and bound and determined to marry a title because she's always thought that was what she was supposed to do In this book we finally find out about the life events that made her that way She knows she is that way and admits it which makes her a little likeable We met Ian McDonald in the 2nd book and I liked him from the beginning Ian was a good friend to Tony the hero in book two who marries Sophia's sister Ian has cared for Sophia for the three years he's known her but she was only interested in a title Do you believe in fairies and wishes you just might after reading this great series of books Each book has a heroheroine climbing the Fairy Steps to make a wish and each gets their wish granted in a very unexpected way The villains in this book really are a bad lot a sisterbrother combo that i'm not sure who is the villainous What a great ending to this series of 3 books I could have strangled Sophia towards the beginning as she is so above herself Ian however is delightful Their story is one of unreuited love for a very long time The characters are extremely well drawn I loved it This is the first book I've read by this author and sometimes found it a little confusing Maybe if I had read the first 2 in this series I would know who Lady Danford is She appears in this book but I don't know if she's an elderly relative or friend I did figure out the sisters and their husbands I like the idea of the fairy steps and wishes The heroine Sophia was not always likeable but lost her mother at a young age and her father and brother were not kind to her and her sisters The hero Ian is wonderful but a commoner Sophia is determined to marry a lord and live in London The secondary characters are okay I thought the jealous Lady Catherine was overdone though she is the villainess There is some danger and 2 HEAs The book does get better as you read further There are a couple of typos but this is an ARC so I'm sure they will be corrected All in all it's not a bad read but not one I'd ever reread Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for allowing me to try a new to me author This book will be released July 19th Ian sure likes to take action “I am going to kiss you senseless” His mouth took hers before she could say anything else I have to applaud Ian for his self restraint “you’re very warm A veritable furnace Ian How is that possible?” She snuggled closer wiggling her hips against his groin He grasped her hips to still them This was going to be a great deal difficult than he’d thought I liked this book I loved Ian The two main women in this story leave much to be desired The heroine Sophia is petty egotistical and vain She admits to being all these things and her self awareness only makes her mildly tolerable Catherine the lead antagonist is just plain evil Ian the hero is mostly well intentioned and seems to have genuine affection for SophiaAs a whole the story was okay but it's hard for me to award than three stars when I spent the entirety of the book hoping I can find something to like about a main protagonistI received an ARC of this book from the publisher via NetGallery in exchange for a fair and honest review With the conclusion of her Lady's Wish Trilogy Eileen Richards leaves a strong foundation to build her name on Memorable characters delightful plots and great writing make this series notable In her final work A Most Inconvenient Wish Ms Richards takes traditional regency and makes it appealing to a twenty first century audience Ian McDonald is everything you could hope for in a hero and everyone but his hearts desire Sophia recognizes they are meant to be With head butting scheming adversaries and a reluctant heroine this story was enormously entertaining The recognition of the leads of this work's character flaws was refreshing in its honesty Eileen Richards has made an outstanding debut with her Lady's Wish TrilogyI received this ARC in exchange for an honest reviewWhile part of a series this book can be read as a stand alone Sophia has seen her sisters wed and decides to make a wishon the Fairie steps for her true love Ian arrives to help her but he is not destined to be her love or is he Delightful story as these two find their way together Enjoyed seeing the other family members again Definitely would recommend this authorEbook from netgalley and publishers with thanks It's been five years and two kids since elder sister Anne married Nathaniel Matthews An Unexpected Wish A Lady's Wish Book One and three years since younger sister Juliet married Nathaniel's little brother Tony An Honorable Wish A Lady's Wish Book Two now the beauty of the family Sophia Townsend decides to climb to the top of the Fairy Steps and make her marriage wish Unfortunately the pesky Scott Ian McDonald who a partnered with her brothers in law follows her up to the top and in exasperation at his interference she makes the wrong wish in A Most Inconvenient Wish A Lady's Wish Book Three by Eileen Richards While her siblings married for love Sophia just wants the comfort of a title and the excitement of the whirlwind of London society but Nathaniel vows there will be no seasons He's ready to permanently settle down at The Lodge with his wife and children Sophia has turned down all her suitors none which have fit her ideal Yet she has one last chance inviting Lord Geoffrey Bateman and his sister Lady Catherine for a house visit The Earl was especially attentive this last season with The Ton abuzz about the expected proposal Unfortunately Geoffrey arrives with his new bride to be along with her generous dowry in toe While he enjoyed his time with Sophia Bateman needs to marry for money Love was never a part of the picture He's so desperate that he even tries to broker a marriage between the wealthy sheep farmer Ian and his sister to get the cash he needs to maintain his dignified lifestyle McDonald whose father was the steward for the Bateman estate wants nothing to do with the deal but is willing to purchase the land neighboring their two properties at a fair priceComplications ensue as the house guests don't always display the best manners and Sophie rues the day she impulsively invited them into their midst The antagonistic relationship between Sophia and Ian fluctuates between harmony and discord as the two try to decide if their vastly different goals matter in the grand scheme of things While Richards always comes up with an interesting plot with a compelling beginning and ending she has trouble somewhere in the middle meandering about with too much repetition amongst the action She definitely needs a reminder to show and not tell and tell and tell again Better a tight 250 page Regency Romance than a rambling one of 300 pages I was often confused especially regarding the inconsistent actions of the characters and the vague generalizations alluded to in the text Was Geoffrey a decent but proud man caught in a difficult situation or was he a raving lunatic? The mantra about desperate men doing desperate things didn't uite cover some of his or his sister's evil behaviorsThis story however has a little meat to it than book one Three starsThis ARC was provided by Netgalley and Lyrical Press in exchange for an honest review The same review appears on my blog Gotta Read Sophia Townsend has watched both of her sisters find love and settle into idyllic married lives But raised to believe that her greatest purpose is to advance the family's fortunes Sophia has grander ambitions when it comes to choosing a husband She's never lacked for suitors but now she finds herself running out of time Her last and best hope is Lord Bateman—and she has only a few days to secure his proposal Ian McDonald has long been a friend of the Townsend family and has watched Sophia with amusement over the years A Scot and sheep farmer Ian has done well for himself but holds little social standing Yet just as he's realized his love for Sophia she has set her sights on another man Nevertheless Ian is determined to win her He has a bold plan in mind but when he and Sophia encounter one another at the legendary Fairy Steps a most inconvenient wish is accidently made—and neither could possibly guess the happy outcome Sophia Townsend age 26 is climbing the Fairy Steps to make a wish in hopes of finding a husband It is said that if a young unmarried lady is able to climb the stairs to the top the fairies will grant them a wish After 4 seasons in London where she was uite popular she still has had no proposals In addition society has labeled her cold and aloof Ian McDonald appears on the scene to assist Sophia on the rickety stairs of the Fairy Steps chastising her for being so foolish to climb them But a sudden storm chases them into a shed for cover This dark shed brings out a sense of panic in Sophie which is a fear left over from a bad experience in her pastSophia is attracted to Ian but her logic tells her that he is just a steward although very wealthy and she wants the advantages of society by being married to a man with a titleSophia lives with her sister and brother in law in the country She is planning a summer party and has invited Lord Geoffrey Bateman the Earl Bateman and his sister Catherine Ian McDonald is invited as well as he has long been a friend of the Townsend family When the Earl and Catherine arrive they bring two people with them Geoffrey had been attentive to Sophia in London but never proposed His lack of doing so left her ridiculed Now she is hoping for a proposal from himAs the party begins we find the Bateman family showing their true colors Both Geoffrey and Catherine will stop at nothing to get what they want It also appears that Ian is interested in Sophia and Geoffrey is not Oh what a mess Where will it all end up?This is a good story and one where I wanted to shake than one character When a story brings out real emotions in a reader then I think the author has done a good jobCopy provided by the publisher via NetGalley
