This is the third book in the HERO seriesIn this book we meet some amazing new charactersDiva is a new member of HERO and she is helped to get use to her new powers as a super by our now well known supers from the last two books Diva is a very sweet and likable characterFor Chrome changing into a super has been like a curse than a blessing her entire life has been destroyed by her change and her world is falling apartGravitix has no interest in joining HERO; he wants to use his powers to make a lot of money But will it be for good or evil the lengths in which he is prepared to go to for his own personal gainShrinker is a mutant and she is very bitter and has a massive chip on her shoulder she wants to build up an army of mutants Shrinker is manipulative and calculating as she tries to bring the new supers on her side to help her free the mutant followers she lost in HERO MetamorphosisAlong with the fantastic new characters we meet up with the familiar characters from the last two novelsAlthough HERO Rise and Fall is a much shorter novel than the previous ones in the series this does not disappoint you still get lots of action and the introducing of the new characters keeps the storylines fresh as well as involving the characters from the last two novels which are now well known and well liked I look forward to seeing how the new characters develop and to which path they will follow good or bad I really do enjoy these books; I just find them really entertaining On to book four I go

I read the first three books in this series and really enjoyed them The writing could certainly be improved though it did get better as the books went along The characters were interesting but could have been better developedThe point of view changes for each chapter bugged me I don't mind changing from one character to the next but then changing to third person didn't work There is a reason that books are written in a constant POV Alsothe subtitle of each chapter telling us which point of view it is now changing too is very annoying Put their names by all means but the words 'point of view' are now driving me nutsDespite my complaints the storyline of the first book was enjoyable enough that I was happy to pay 295 for the second And then for the third The third book however was less enjoyable I really think that Diva was overused and the prejudice against her 'ditziness' was rather annoying and rudeI was still willing to pay 295 for the next book thoughbut guess what? They've now jumped to 495 No thank you oh and just personally I think posers do not help the book cover I almost didn't read these books at all because of them

I don't know what it is with Kevin Rau but all of the books so far in this series have kept me tuning the pages long after I should have put it down to get on with whatever I should be doing Also he has the gift gor making you like characters you would normally dislike Diva for example when I first came across Diva I was prepared to be disappointed but as the book progressed I found myself cheering for her Lance also normally I would not liking him but I really enjoy his characterI recommend this series to everyone even those who would not normally read superhero novels you will be surprised pleasantlyI already have the next in the series
